WHEN THE WIND WAS JUST A BREEZE:
HRL started out like a lot of other big and small companies around the world, as just an
idea. Our basic concept is to produce music that is as genuine and honest as the artists
who make it. The music you’ll find at HRL is not over processed or pre-programmed.
Its a simple concept; record a live band, get good sounds on tape and mix it all together.
You won’t hear excessive EQ'ing or processing on our recordings. So when you hear a
growling, screaming tenor sax (or hurricanes as they use to be called) on our
recordings its because that’s the way it was played and recorded. We hope you enjoy
and appreciate this music as much as we do!

Six Foot Joe Noted sax man Six Foot Joe takes center stage with his own brand of rocking-blues flavored music and a new hip band, the Red Hot Rhinos. Joe combines his passion for early rock and roll sax “hurricanes” of the 1940s and 1950s with contemporary artists like Bruce Springsteen and Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes, to create his own style of toe tapping music.
